Performance-Installation series

2023 / 2024 / 2025

La Plasti Ciudad del Cuerpo is a performance-installation series in which the artist fuses discarded objects found in public spaces with her body, transforming them into ephemeral architectural figures. Through an intuitive process, these accumulated objects create a visual excess, a representation of the urban environment. The body and the objects communicate through a constant negotiation between functionality and displacement, creating temporary architectural compositions.

Over time, the series has been transforming, adapting to different contexts and exhibition spaces. Each new action reconfigures the relationship between body, object, and architecture, incorporating materials from the immediate surroundings and expanding the research on the boundaries between the performative and the sculptural. This evolution reflects an artistic practice that redefines itself in dialogue with space, residue, and presence.

From this body-object mutability, the artist subtly captures the debris, holding the figures for as long as possible, like ruins in the landscape.

Description:

  • Solo performance designed for non-conventional, public spaces and galleries. A space of at least 9m2 is required for the installation of the objects.

  • As the work is based on improvisation, each presentation is different, as is the selection of the objects used.

  • As a primary procedure for the action, a few days before the presentation, the artist collects these discarded objects from the urban environment, collected in different areas of the city where the work is presented. During this short period of time, there is a kind of coexistence with this accumulation, thus generating a closeness between the artist and the objects. The criterion for selecting the objects is that they all have a moderate size, even if they are of different natures, so that the artist can hold them on her body during the action. All the objects are painted blue.

  • The audience can stand around the performer, even circulate during the action. It's allowed to enter and leave the space at any time. After the performance time has passed, the performer leaves the space.
